Empire Square Apartments is located south of the River Thames in London, England. It is 700 metres from Southwark Cathedral, and 800 metres from historic Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. This 22-storey hotel features modern architecture, brushed steel facades, and a large internal courtyard. Staff at the 24-hour front desk can offer concierge services, and babysitting and childcare is also available. There is a dry cleaning service at the front desk, and secure parking is available on site for a surcharge.
The 225 apartments have light contemporary decor, modern furnishings, and separate sitting areas. Some have balconies with superb views across London. All are equipped with satellite television, complimentary wireless Internet access, and CD and DVD players. The apartments have kitchens which include microwaves, refrigerators, and coffee/tea makers. From London Gatwick Airport (LGW): Distance to Empire Square Apartments is 30 miles, approximately 70 minutes' drive.

Getting there: The Gatwick Express train departs from the airport and travels to London Victoria Station every 15 minutes, and travel time is 30 minutes. Single tickets cost 14 GBP. From Victoria, visitors can access the London Underground. Take the District or Circle line to Westminster and change there to the Jubilee line for London Bridge which is 500 metres from the hotel. Regional train services are cheaper and run to Victoria, stopping at Clapham Junction and East Croydon. Regional trains also run to Kings Cross, London Bridge, Brighton, Bedford, and other locations throughout southern England. Coaches depart to London Victoria and other nationwide destinations from the South Terminal (ground floor). Taxis to London city centre cost about 80 GBP and take approximately 70 minutes. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around: The London Underground (Tube) and buses are the easiest ways to travel within London. Single tickets are expensive, but an electronic Oyster card offers a cheaper fare. Oyster cards can be purchased from ticket offices for 3 GBP (refundable). Daily or weekly travel passes are the most economical way to travel, and are valid on buses, trams, trains, and DLR, as well as on the Underground. Black taxis are available on the streets, but can be expensive. Driving is not recommended for visitors and a congestion charge zone is operated in central London. Prices are all subject to change.
